Where is Croatia?
Croatia is located in central-southeastern Europe. It is a relatively small country covering around 22,000 square miles of land, bordering Slovenia to the north, Hungary to the northeast, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia to the east, Montenegro to the south, and the Adriatic Sea to the west. Croatia is also conveniently located opposite Italy across the sea, making it a great location to easily travel to other European countries.
Croatia‘s greatest natural asset is its 1,100-mile-long Adriatic Sea coastline, dotted with a thousand beautiful islands and inlets, about 50 of which are inhabited. From the Istrian Peninsula in the north to the Dubrovnik area in the south, Croatia boasts spectacular coastal landscapes, beautiful beaches, and mountainous areas hosting amazing natural parks, making it a top tourism destination in the world.
Croatia‘s capital city is Zagreb, a multicultural historic city located in the central-northern part of the country, nicknamed “the city of museums”. Among the largest cities in Croatia are Split, Rijeka, Osijek, and Zadar.
